Student Transit Pass Program

 

Attention Student Transit Pass Users!

Students who use AC Transit or Union City Transit must verify their pass information by July 31st. Without verification, your pass may expire on August 1st. To verify, please fill out this form.

Eligible middle and high school students in Alameda County can receive a Student Transit Pass. The pass includes free and unlimited trips on AC Transit, Union City Transit, or Wheels, 50 percent off BART fares, and discounts on other transit systems in the Bay Area.  

 

Program Eligibility

More than 160 Alameda County schools participate in the program. There are two program models: 

  • Universal Eligibility: Students in grades 6 through 12 can apply for a free Student Transit Pass. Participating schools within the following school districts have universal eligibility: ACOE, EUSD, LVJUSD, OUSD, and State Special Schools. 
  • Means-Based Eligibility: Students in grades 6 through 12 who are eligible for free or reduced-priced meals can apply for a Student Transit Pass. Check the income guidelines from the California Department of Education for more details. Participating schools within the following school districts have means-based eligibility: AUSD, Albany City USD, BUSD, CVUSD, DUSD, FUSD, HUSD, NHUSD, NUSD, PUSD, Piedmont City USD, SLUSD, and SLZUSD.
