About Us

Alameda CTC manages the Student Transit Pass program to support the traveling needs of Alameda County students and promote efficient, cost-effective transit options.

The program started as a pilot in 2016 and in 2024 achieved a major milestone: every eligible school in Alameda County is now enrolled! This expansion ensures that students have access to free bus transportation up through high school graduation, making it easier than ever for students to travel to and from school, jobs, and extra-curricular activities.

During the 2023-24 school year, over 30,000 students at 138 schools participated in the program, taking over 1.76 million free bus rides in total.

Program Goals

  • Reduce barriers to transportation and enable convenient travel.
  • Improve transportation options for Alameda County’s middle and high school students.
  • Promote public transit use in Alameda County.
  • Reduce transportation costs with free and discounted rides.
