Independent Watchdog Committee Approves 19th Annual Report to the Public

Alameda CTC’s Independent Watchdog Committee’s (IWC) approved its 19th Annual Report to the Public on July 12, 2021, covering fiscal year 2019-2020 expenditures and IWC activities.

The last quarter of FY2019-20 was marked by the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic resulting in a statewide “lockdown,” impacting community life and Alameda CTC’s planning, implementation and public meeting activities. Forging ahead, the IWC reviewed and analyzed Alameda CTC’s Measure B and Measure BB expenditures and the committee’s report to the public concluded that funds were spent in accordance with the intent of the two transportation sales tax measures.

The IWC, whose members reside in Alameda County, was created after passage of the local sales tax measure in 2014, and is a continuation of the Citizens Watchdog Committee created in 2002 after reauthorization of the local sales tax measure in 2000.

The 19th Annual Report to the Public, the Executive Summary in English, Chinese and Spanish, and audited financial statements and compliance reports of each agency receiving Measure B and Measure BB funds are available to the public on the Alameda CTC website. Hard copies of the Annual Report are available upon request.
