Section 5310 Grants to Enhance Mobility for Seniors and People with Disabilities

More than $8 million is available for projects and programs that will enhance mobility for seniors and people with disabilities.

woman getting out of paratransit vanFiscal year 2013 and fiscal year 2014 grant funding is available for capital purchases, program operations and or mobility management efforts to improve mobility for seniors and individuals with disabilities by removing barriers to transportation services and expanding the transportation mobility options available.

 

Funding for Large Urbanized Areas

Agencies in most cities in Alameda County are eligible for funding within “Large Urbanized Areas,” and approximately $8 million is available for the region’s Large Urbanized Areas. The Metropolitan Transportation Commission is announcing the call for projects.

The application deadline is Thursday, November 6, 2014. The application and all other program documents are available on MTC’s website: http://www.mtc.ca.gov/funding/FTA/5310.htm.

Funding for Small Urbanized Areas

Agencies based in or serving Livermore are eligible for funding as “Small Urbanized Areas,” and the California Department of Transportation is announcing this call for projects.

The application deadline is Monday, December 1, 2014. The application and other program documents will soon be available on Caltrans’ website: http://www.dot.ca.gov/hq/MassTrans/5310.html.
