Oakland Alameda Access Project
Improving travel between Oakland and Alameda
By enhancing safety, reducing congestion, and improving bike and pedestrian connectivity, the project is helping to improve how people move within and through Oakland and Alameda.

Rail Safety Enhancement Program
Putting rail safety first
The Rail Safety Enhancement Program (RSEP) is a multi-phased, countywide effort to improve safety, reliability, and long-term operations at priority rail crossings. Improvements include new sidewalks, automatic gates, better lighting, warning strips, new fencing, and clearer signage. Initial work has started in Livermore and Hayward.

GOPort, 7th Street Grade Separation East Project
Improving truck and rail access to the Port of Oakland
The GoPort program is improving truck and train access to the Port of Oakland. The 7th Street Grade Separation East Project—one of its key efforts—will replace the substandard railroad underpass on 7th Street between Interstate 880 and Maritime Street. This will deliver better truck and car access, reduced congestion, improved safety, and more reliable goods movement.
