I27-0013 – San Pablo Avenue Parallel Bike Improvement Project
The San Pablo Avenue Parallel Bike Improvements Project (Project) proposed to install roadway modifications along existing streets to create a network of continuous bicycle facilities in the vicinity of San Pablo Avenue in the cities of Albany, Berkeley, Emeryville and Oakland. The Project was identified through a multi-year San Pablo Avenue Corridor Planning process that spanned 2017-2020 as an alternative to bike facilities along San Pablo Avenue, based on technical considerations and community input. Project elements include traffic circles, traffic diverters, speed humps/tables, curb extensions, median modifications, intersection daylighting (red curb), curb and gutter, curb ramps, pavement maintenance and rehabilitation, drainage modifications, pavement delineation, roadside signage, intersection safety lighting, a pedestrian hybrid beacon (PHB), rectangular rapid-flashing beacon (RRFB) warning devices, and landscaping improvements.
