Eligible Alameda County middle and high school students are now invited to apply for the Student Transit Pass Program, which provides unlimited free rides on their participating local bus system, 50% off BART fares, and discounts on other regional transit. Now entering its 11th year, the program served nearly 32,000 students at more than 160 schools during the 2024–25 school year, providing more than 2.1 million free bus rides.
Free transit access helps students get to school, jobs, internships, and extracurricular activities while reducing transportation costs for families. Eligibility varies depending on the school district. To apply, students should visit https://www.alamedactc.org/programs-projects/studentpass/apply and select the school to begin an application.
