Public Notice: I-880 Southbound HOV Lane Project Assessment

On February 23, 2012, the Air Quality Conformity Task Force met regarding the Alameda CTC's proposal to add one High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lane in the southbound direction of I-880 between Marina Blvd (PM 22.5) and Hegenberger Road (PM 25.5) in the Cities of San Leandro and Oakland in Alameda County. Other improvements will include reconstruction of Davis Street and Marina Boulevard interchanges to provide standard vertical clearance, reconstruction of on and off-ramps at 98th Avenue and Hegenberger Road, replacement of sound walls at some locations and replacement of ramp metering at some locations.

Citizens Watchdog Committee Releases 9th Annual Report

On August 25, the Alameda CTC Citizens Watchdog Committee (CWC) released its 9th Annual Report to the Public. The report describes the committee’s activities, and provides an update on the delivery of projects and programs funded by Measure B, Alameda County’s voter-approved half-cent sales tax for transportation improvements. Condensed versions of the report are now available in Chinese and Spanish.

Alameda CTC Merger Saves Taxpayers over $3 Million

For immediate release: Taking action to trim government bureaucracy and save Alameda County taxpayer dollars, July marked the first anniversary of the Alameda County Transportation Commission, a Joint Powers Authority resulting from a merger of the Alameda County Congestion Management Agency (ACCMA) and the Alameda County Transportation Improvement Authority (ACTIA).

The Commission’s first consolidated budget for the fiscal year 2011-2012 reflects consolidation efficiencies that will save taxpayers over $3 million and presents greater detail to improve accountability and transparency.
