2018 Comprehensive Investment Plan (2018 CIP) Paratransit Program

The Alameda County Transportation Commission (Alameda CTC) is initiating a call for project nominations for its 2018 Comprehensive Investment Plan (2018 CIP) Paratransit Program (for programs/projects targeted towards seniors and people with disabilities). The attached Notice includes information on eligible applicants and project types, estimate of funding available, schedule, application resources, and staff contacts. Alameda CTC is responsible for planning, funding, and delivering transportation projects and programs within Alameda County. This includes the programming of federal, state, regional and local transportation funding. The CIP is Alameda CTC’s near-term strategic planning and programming document through which all fund sources administered by Alameda CTC are programmed through a consolidated process to maximize investments towards critical transportation infrastructure and operations needs.

The 2018 CIP Paratransit Program will allocate funding for a two-year cycle for fiscal years 2017-18 through 2018-19. Approximately $3.7 million in competitive funding will be available to local jurisdictions and non-profit organizations.

The primary goal of the 2018 CIP Paratransit Program is to support mobility management types of activities that improve consumers’ ability to access services and/or improve coordination between programs. The 2018 CIP Paratransit program/project nomination period will open this Thursday, September 1, 2016 and close Monday, October 31, 2016. Eligible applicants with programs/projects that are implementation ready for fiscal years 2017-18 through 2018-19 should apply for funding during this time. Alameda CTC’s 2018 CIP Paratransit programming and allocation recommendations will be considered by the Commission in late spring 2017.

An Application Workshop, specifically for Paratransit Program funding, will be held on Tuesday, September 13th from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. at the Alameda CTC offices. This workshop will provide an interactive overview of the online application system, including how to create an account and submit an application.

FY2016-17 Extension of Cycle 5 Gap Grant Program

The Alameda County Transportation Commission (Alameda CTC) is extending the funding period of the Cycle 5 Gap Grant program for one year, through FY2016-17. Through this extension, recipients of Cycle 5 Gap Grants may apply for one year of additional funding. Funds will also be available for “As-Needed Grants for Matching Funds.” See the posted Cycle 5 Program Guidelines Addendum below for details. Applications to extend existing Cycle 5 grants are due by Friday, March 25, 2016.
