Public Participation

Throughout this important transportation planning process, Alameda CTC involved the community in numerous ways to update the Alameda Countywide Transportation Plan (CWTP) and the Transportation Expenditure Plan (TEP).

Advisory Committee Participation

To guide the development of the CWTP and TEP, Alameda CTC formed two advisory committees (CAWG and TAWG) and a Steering Committee. These standing committees met every other month on the first (CAWG), second (TAWG) and fourth (Steering Committee) Thursdays. All plan development committee meetings were open to the public. Learn more about their work here. You can also access meeting agendas, PowerPoint presentations and other background meeting information for previous meetings by visiting the Alameda CTC meeting calendar and clicking on the link provided on the meeting date.

Past Outreach Activities

More than 1,600 Alameda County residents provided input to the Alameda CTC during the spring of 2011. This input painted a broad picture of transportation needs throughout the County. Community input was used to develop a list of potential projects and programs for inclusion in the draft CWTP-TEP. To read more about the process and comments collected during the spring outreach, please visit the Public Outreach Archive.

During fall 2011, more than 1,300 Alameda County residents provided input into the development of the TEP through community workshops, questionnaires and a telephone poll. A summary of the public involvement process is currently under development and will be posted to the website when it is finalized.
